The longer you leave on the henna (Mehandi) paste, the longer your tattoo will last you will generally be advised to leave it on overnight. HOWEVER, not only is that a pain it varies widely based on the quality of henna  (Mehandi) . I’ve found henna (Mehandi) cones that I only need to leave on for 30 – 45 min and the tattoos will last for 2 Weeks.

Henna (Mehandi) tattoos last between 1-3 weeks on average. Usually they have a deep strong color for approx 2 weeks and fade from there but it really depends on where you put it, how often you wash it and how fast your skin Henna (Mehandi)  exfoliates hands and feet stain the darkest but come off a bit sooner.

Here’s how henna (Mehandi) basically works: There is a dye molecule in the leaves of the henna (Mehandi) plant  When you apply the paste, the dye molecule migrate from the henna  (Mehandi) plant mixture to the top layers of your skin (which all happen to be layers of dead skin cells). your skin composition is different across your body henna  so if you want your tattoo to last longer, choose areas that have thicker skin such as the palms of your handandsoles of your feet. Henna (Mehandi) Tattoos on other places such as arms, legs, stomach, back will fade faster because the skin is thinner.
